Chris Giwa insist on Resuming as NFF President Today
There end of the raging saga at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) does not seem like it will be coming soon as Chris Giwa addressed a press briefing Tuesday and declared that he will resume duties as the substantive president on Wednesday.
Giwa FC owner while speaking to the media at the Numero Uno Hotel, Gwarinpa, Abuja, says plans have been concluded for him to resume work at the Glass House pursuant to the ruling by the Federal High Court, Jos last Friday.
“I got into Abuja this afternoon and I can tell you that time is not on our side. The NFF secretariat is there. That is our secretariat. I am not based in Abuja. I just came into Abuja this afternoon,” he said.
“We will be in the secretariat tomorrow. That is our secretariat.
“You saw our board members there on Friday. My board members waited for me yesterday.
“The major reason why we have not come to the secretariat is that we are law abiding people and we wanted the court order to be duly served to the relevant authorities. This is our right and we will be there tomorrow (Wednesday) by the grace of God.”
On Monday, the NFF secretariat was sealed off by authorities following the leadership tussle with Amaju Pinnick, with world football governing body Fifa issuing a statement threatening to that ban the country from football activities should the order of any court outside of the game be adhered to.
