50 Cent apologies for Picking on Autistic Worker
Rapper 50 cent is in mood we rarely get to see him in… Apologetic. The rapper had shared a clip of himself picking on an airport worker (Andrew Farrell), Days later, Farrell was identified as being autistic and this earned the rapper major backlash on social media.
The family of Farrell demanded an apology from the Power actor, adding that he must donate $1million to their son’s GoFundMe page.
50 Cent has quickly issued an apology to the family and also to the general public. “While the incident at the airport resulted from an unfortunate misunderstanding, I am truly sorry for offending the young man,” the rapper said in the statement to Page Six.
“It was certainly not my intent to insult him or the disability community, which is a source of great strength in America. I have apologized personally to him and his family.”
Page Six confirmed from the attorney to Farrell’s family and they clarified that a ‘sincere apology’ would be enough, that the rapper need not pay the requested amount.
“The family only wants a sincere apology from Mr. Jackson,” the attorney Matthew J. Hammer said, adding, “The Cincinnati area loves Mr. Jackson and his work and I think it can only be mutually beneficial if he is willing to offer an apology to Andrew and his family.”
