50 Cent gets Best Birthday gift from CourtRapper and entrepreneur 50 Cent has slammed his former lawyers with a $32million lawsuit over the sex tape case he lost to Lastonia Leviston in 2015.

Billboard reports that the Window shopper rapper whose real name is Curtis Jackson III filed a claim to the U.S. Bankruptcy court in Connecticut, citing that the”miscues from his ex-lawyers Reed Smith and attorney Peter Raymond left him at a disadvantage against Leviston during her lawsuit against him.

50 Cent lost the long court battle with Rick Ross’ ex Lastonia Leviston in 2015 after he leaked a sex tape in 2009.

The court awarded her $2.5 million in damages and another $2.5 million for intentionally inflicting her with emotional distress. However, the meat of the case was in the punitive damages where 50 Cent would be made to pay more, but he filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy two days later.

In December 2016, after he won $14.5m in a malpractice lawsuit against Wall Street firm Garvey Schubert Barer (GSB), the rapper noted that he would be going after the lawyers who represented him in the sex tape case.

I’m not a sucker, I’m a hustler. You gotta kill me, or lock me up. I will not just go away,” 50 Cent threatened on his Instagram. Reed&Smith is next, they didn’t handle my case correctly either. They think they can exhaust you on legal fees. I have nothing but time and money.

Well, he has fulfilled his threat; this man does not joke!

Explaining why he is dragging his former lawyers, the rapper blames them for urging him to file for bankruptcy, adds that he wouldn’t have filed if he was aware of the “neglectful, negligent and unethical conduct of Raymond and Reed Smith.”

His case alleges in part, that:

Reed Smith and Raymond did not follow established legal standards in representing Jackson in the Leviston Case by failing to provide effective representation and conduct proper pre-trial and trial preparation prior to the Leviston trial. The complaint calls out Reed & Raymond for their ineptness when they were preparing for his case against Leviston. In addition, their lack of effective representation and inadequate pre-trial preparation and preparation for trial caused Jackson to retain new counsel on the eve of trial.”

50 Cent is ‘seeking $25 million in punitive damages and $7 million in actual damages for breach of fiduciary duty and malpractice.’
