Diego Costa Returns to Atletico Madrid for £53m
The Premier League Champions, Chelsea have announced a deal with Atletico Madrid to allow striker Diego Costa return to the Spanish club.

Sky Sports reports that Atletico Madrid will part ways with as much as £53m for the striker who will now head to the Spanish capital for a medical and discussions on his personal terms. However, he will officially be registered as an Atletico player in January when the club’s transfer ban by expires.

The Spanish international striker has not featured for the Blues this season after a spat with manager Antonio Conte, and he spent much of the summer in his native Brazil.

The long-awaited move comes almost a week before both teams face each other next Wednesday in the Champions League.

The 28 year old Spanish striker joined Chelsea from Atletico for a reported £32m three years ago, and has been a favourite at Stamford Bridge.

He scored 58 goals in 120 appearances for the Blues, leading them to the title twice in his three-year stint there.
