Mane, Salah top Shortlist For 2018 BBC African Footballer Of the Year Award
The British Broadcasting Corporation is out now with the five-man shortlist for the 2018 BBC African Footballer of the Year award and no Nigerian footballer is on the prestigious list.
The shortlist was unveiled to football fans around the world during a launch programme in Lagos over the weekend.

This year’s nominees are Medhi Benatia (Morocco and Juventus), Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal and Napoli), Sadio Mane (Senegal and Liverpool), Thomas Partey (Ghana and Atletico Madrid) and Mohamed Salah (Egypt and Liverpool).
Voting for your favorite player is set to begin at 1900 GMT on Saturday, 17th November and will run until 2000 GMT on Sunday, 2nd December when the vote closes.
The public can vote online for their favourite player by visiting: www.bbc.com/africanfootball.
The result is expected to be revealed in a programme on BBC World News on Friday, 14 December at 17:30.
The shortlist has been compiled by a panel of African football experts.
