Saraki Reacts to Rumours of Dumping APC
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, is a man currently watched by Politicians and Nigerians alike for every move he makes in this season.
The Senate President who is still battling his arrest order by the Code of Conduct Tribunal had to answer to Nigerians on Twitter when they alleged that he may be planning to leave the All Progressives Congress.
The claims by Twitter users, stemmed from the fact that the APC emblem which used to be on his profile page on the micro-blogging platform, was no longer there.
Saraki’s Twitter biography also used to have “Member of the APC”, but his followers and several Twitter users noticed that it had been taken off.
In response to the growing speculations, the Special Adviser to the Senate President on Media, Mr. Yusuph Olaniyonu, had said: “It is not a new development. The party logo was there during the elections and we took it off after the elections about a month ago.”
Shortly after, Saraki himself reacted via a tweet, stating that he still belongs to the APC.
The Senate President replied when a follower alleged that he was going back to his vomit, the Peoples Democratic Party.
I remain a card carrying member of my dear party. But I’m also honoured to serve as Senate President of all Senators https://t.co/WS81UyK63t
