PENGASSAN Commence Indefinite National Strike
Striking Oil workers under the umbrella of Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and National Union of Petroleum and Gas Workers (NUPENG) have suspended the strike action which it embarked on since Thursday.

PENGASSAN and a faction of NUPENG which embarked on the Nationwide strike were in discussion with the Federal Government since Monday. The federal government had earlier tasked the labour unions to resume work in the Spirit of patriotism.

“A situation where oil workers leave their offices and oil loading base will not make for an increase in oil export or assist to make available enough petroleum products in this time of deregulation.”

“This will only compound the vandalisation in the Niger Delta, occasioning low output and export in our OPEC quota, apart from the unwarranted hardship on the populace.”

The meetings has finally resulted in the ending of the Strike action.
