Olisa Agbakoba, Ayuba Giwa nominated for Supreme Court Justices

Fraud Case Against Chief Registrar of Supreme Court Justice Sylvester Ngwuta Supreme Court Justices voluntarily withdraw from sittings New Supreme Court JusticesNigerian Bar Association has shortlisted nine applicants, and sent their names to the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman, Judicial Service Commission, Walter Samuel Onnoghen, for appointment as Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Justice Onnoghen shortly after his appointment as Acting CJN, had forwarded a request to the President of the NBA, Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN), asking the body “to nominate suitable candidate for consideration as Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.”

The nominations came after a thorough screening process carried out by a select committee chaired by the NBA President with eight other prominent lawyers as members, Channelstv.com writes.

Applicants selected by the NBA for appointment as Justices of the Supreme Court are the following:

The nine nominees were chosen from a total of 89 Expressions of Interest submitted to the Nigerian Bar Association.
