Niger Delta University ASUU calls off Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, of the Niger Delta University, NDU, Bayelsa state has suspended its four-month old industrial action.

The Zonal Coordinator ASUU Port Harcourt Zone, Professor Beke Sese and Dr Stanley Ogoun, the Niger Delta University ASUU branch chairman, gave this information today during a press conference in Yenagoa.

The Niger Delta university had been on a prolonged strike following the non-payment of salaries, and other complaints.

This strike suspension is coming two days after Governor Seriake Dickson ordered the payment of two out of the four month salaries owed the lecturers.
