NFF to Pay Samson Siasia’s Outstanding Salaries
The coach of Nigeria’s Under-23 side, Samson Siasia and his assistants will be paid their outstanding salaries, Africanfootball.com reports.
According to the report, the Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick said the coaching crew who are being owed for five months will be paid from the $60,000 grant the Federation recently received from the Confederation of African Football.
The Dream Team coach had threatened to quit his position on Monday but heeded to pleas by his players led by team captain Mikel John Obi.
“I have directed the secretariat that the $60,000 we received from CAF be used immediately to pay the U23 team coaches,” the outlet quoted the NFF President Amaju Pinnick as saying on Tuesday, “ We are in the process of paying them.”
According to Pinnick the Federation is “financially challenged” due to “an obscene amount of debts” left by his predecessor Aminu Maigari.
