NFF Announce Death of Former International

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has announced the death of John Ene Okon, a Nigerian former International and a coach.

The former midfielder passing away in Calabar on Tuesday march 15 has brought about torrents of tributes pouring-in for the late player.

The player who featured for Nigeria at the 1987 Fifa U-20 World Cup as well as the 1992 African Cup of Nations was reported to have died in Calabar where he was the coach of Calabar Rovers until his death.

A former team mate, Etim Esin posting a message on his facebook page said it was indeed a sad news. “What a sad news, my teammate, John okon ene passed on today, Calabar Rovers, Chile 87, super eagles, God knows best, RIP,” Etim Esin posted. The NFF has also shared its condolences with the family
