Ikpeazu stops Uche Ogar's Swearing In till July 18th Judge Sacks Okezie Ikpeazu as Abia GovernorAn Abia State High Court sitting in Osisioma has, today, granted a motion filed by Okezie Ikpeazu for the extension of an order restraining the Chief Judge of Abia State, the President of the Abia State Customary Court of Appeal and any other judicial officer from swearing in Mr. Uche Ogah as governor of the state until July 18, Daily Post is reporting.

Meanwhile in Abuja, Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja will today rule on the appeal filed by Ikpeazu, for the stay of execution of the court judgement which removed him from office.

Justice Okon Abang on June 27 had ordered INEC to issue a Certificate of Return to Dr Uche Ogah as he got the second highest number of votes in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election. Following Ikpeazu’s appeal, Justice Abang picked Thursday for the new ruling, but it was later moved to today, Friday, due to the unprecedented public holiday.
