Fresh reports suggest former Tottenham and QPR manager, Harry Redknapp, is set to take over as coach of the Nigerian national team, the Daily Star reports.

The British newspaper reports that Redknapp could be appointed Super Eagles’ manager within a few days.

Rednapp’s appointment comes following the resignation of Sunday Oliseh and the return of Samson Siasia to the Olympic team, the Nigeria Footbal Federation, had last week, appointed Salisu Yusuf, as interim manager to take charge of two upcoming friendlies.

Nigeria’s football governing body NFF has been on the move to get a foreign coach since Oliseh’s resignation and Harry Rednapp has already signified interests although he just took a consultancy job in Australia.

The first friendly match will take place against Mali in Paris on May 27 while the second one is against Luxembourg on June 1.
