For years now, Twitter has verified the accounts/identity of most publicly influential users by adding a small blue tick next to their username, a process that has been celebrated by the 187000 lucky users as no one really knew – or knows – how Twitter selected these people.

Twitter has announced on that henceforth,it will start taking applications from users who want to verify their account.

To make this happen, you will need to provide some info such as your birth date and phone number, and you will also need to have an actual photo of you on your profile. Twitter may also require more verification too.
