El Chapo’s Son Kidnapped by Rival Drug Gang

Serial Prison breaker El Chapo’s son Jesus Alfredo Guzman was one of the 6 men kidnapped by a suspected rival gang at an upscale resort in Puerto Vallarta on Monday Mexicn officials ave confirmed.

The 29-year-old was kidnapped by the Jalisco New Generation gang and it is believed to be an avenue to settle old scores between the rival gangs.

Alejandro Hope, a Mexico City-based security analyst, noted the oddity that a group of alleged cartel members would be taken without a shot being fired.

‘It’s a bit surprising that in effect they were drug traffickers but didn’t have any security,’ Hope said.

According to witnesses at the scene, two SUVs carrying seven armed assailants burst into the La Leche restaurant on Puerto Vallarta’s main boulevard around 1am and abducted the 6 members of Guzman’s Sinaloa cartel at gunpoint.

In a news conference on Tuesday, Jalisco Attorney General, Eduardo Almaguer stated that Alfredo was among those abducted.

“At this moment, we have identified four of the kidnapped. One of them being Jesus Alfredo Guzman’.” Almaguer said.

Almaguer said the identification was made through items found in the vehicles and forensic work at the scene.

He further stated that efforts to determine the abducted men were complicated as many of them had fake identities, Daily Mail reports.

It was previously thought that Ivan Guzman, the older son, believed to have taken over his father’s multi-billion dollar narcotics empire since El Chapo’s incarceration, was the one kidnapped.

Jesus Alfredo Guzman, a son from El Chapo’s first marriage, almost led the FBI directly to his father when he tweeted a picture of them in a restaurant in Costa Rica – and forgot to turn off the locator.

The elderly Guzman has broken out of jail twice. First in 2001 when he bribed his way out and then 2015 after members of his cartel dug a mile-long tunnel which came up under his cell shower block.
