Dino Melaye accuse Oluremi Tinubu of attacking him first

Senator Dino Melaye has claimed that contrary to the report in the news that he threatened to beat up Senator Oluremi Tinubu and impregnate her,that it was Mrs Tinubu who actually verbally attacked him first.

 The Kogi West senator made the claim at a press conference in Abuja, where he claimed that the Lagos Senator called him a dog and a thug during a closed-door meeting where senators had threatened to impeach president Buhari for instituting a forgery case on the leadership of the senate.

“At the Executive session, an issue generated controversy and while contributing, Senator Remi suddenly stood up and called me a dog and a thug, of course, I had to react,” he said.

According to NigeriaNewsWire, he said he would not apologise for an altercation that happened between them. Adding that he was yet to confirm if the statement asking him to apologise was from the national leadership of the party.

Yesterday, APC leader, Bola Tinubu had through his Spokesperson threatened the Kogi Senator while the APC in Lagos told the Senator to apologise to his colleague.

Dino Melaye said he was only addressing the issue officially because he feared his character was being assassinated by the wide media coverage the issue had received.

Melaye said he is a strong believer of democracy and fought the last administration for the democracy Nigerians are enjoying now.

“You can recall that I am no coward. I have always been like this and I do not speak my mind through proxies and that was the reason I took to streets whenever the need arose, particular in defense of democracy,” he maintained.
