Chief Olu Falae Kidnapped,Kidnappers Demand N100M

A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and a contestant for the Presidency in the 1999 elections Chief Olu Falae has been reportedly kidnapped.

According to Channels Television, he was kidnapped on Monday morning, in his farm in Ondo state.

Reports has emerged that abductors of the 76 year old Olu Falae are demanding N100 million ransom for his release. According to a spokesperson of Falae’s party, the ransom is to be paid latest by Tuesday.

The publicity secretary for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Remi Olayiwole, also disclosed more information regarding his kidnap, stating that the gunmen stormed the farm at around 2pm on Monday, shooting sporadically into the air.

“They met him in his farm at Ilado and were shooting before taking him away.”.
“His wife received a phone call from the kidnappers later, and a voice was heard telling the family to bring N100million before the end of tomorrow(Tuesday) before he will be released,” he said.

Olu Falae lost the 1999 elections to Olusegun Obasanjo.
