Army Declares Ahmad Salkida, Ahmed U Bolori and Aisha Wakil wanted

Nigeria-Army-Headquarters-soldier-640x431The Nigerian Army has declared Dubai-based Nigerian journalist, Ahmad Salkida, Ahmed U Bolori and Aisha Wakil wanted.

The army made the announcement in a tweet on Sunday evening.

The army did not state further why Salkida and others were declared wanted but it is believed that this might be connected to the release of the latest Boko Haram video showing dozens of the abducted Chibok girls.

Ahmad Salkida is believed to be trusted by senior members of the sect and released the video earlier on Sunday through his Twitter account. He is known for publishing exclusive content about the sect.

Salkida was also involved in the botched negotiation between the Goodluck Jonathan administration and the sect for the release of the girls.

Though the army has not given further information on why the journalist and others were declared wanted, the claim by the masked Boko Haram fighter, in the video that some of the girls were killed by airstrikes by the Nigerian military may have angered the army.

Earlier, the Nigerian Military released a statement refuting the claim that some of the girls were killed by its air raids.

Salkida went into exile in 2013 citing threat to his life following his reporting on the activities of the sect.
