Armed men Kill Seven Police Officers, injure passerby’s in Abuja Suburb
Armed men have opened fire on seven police officers leaving them dead while rendering a colleague critically injured in Abuja.
The attack is reported to have occurred at the ever busy Galadimawa Roundabout, a suburb just off the international airport road.
According to Daily Trust, a resident of the community who prefers anonymity said the alleged armed men were stopped for the normal police stop and search which happens at the area when the armed men opened fire on the policemen which led to the death of seven while leaving many pedestrians and traders around the roundabout to run for safety while many sustained various degrees of injuries.
He said this led to the deployment of more policemen to the community which is close to the ever busy Airport Road.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police commissioner, Sadiq Bello, informed PREMIUM TIMES of the incident Tuesday afternoon.
The police chief was, however, unable to immediately provide full details of how it occurred, saying the FCT police spokesperson, Anjuguri Manzah, will provide further details.
