The Supreme Court in its ruling has upheld the election of Nyesom Wike, as the Governor of Rivers State.

The Supreme Court while sitting on Wednesday January 27th, affirmed the result of the April 11 governorship election while failing to state the reasons for the judgment.

The court promised to provide detailed reasons for the verdict on February 12.

The Rivers Election Tribunal’s nullified the election which brought in Nyesom Wike as Governor and the Court of Appeal had on December 16 reaffirmed the decision.

The Supreme Court’s ruling has finally brought an end to the All Progressives Congress candidate, Dakuku Peterside’s bid to unseat Wike as governor.
