African Player of the Year 2015: Nigeria Dominates other Categories

Reigning African Footballer of the year Ivory Coast and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has been named alongside Andre Ayew of Ghana and Swansea City and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon and Borussia Dortmund as the final three contenders for the 2015 African Player of the Year.

This year’s winner will be decided by votes from Head Coaches or Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF and will be announced at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala on January 7, 2016.

For the African Player of the Year – Based in Africa, ‎the top three shortlists are: Baghdad Boundjah (Algeria/Etoile Du Sahel), Mbwana Aly Samata (Tanzania/TP Mazembe) and Robert Kidiaba (DR Congo/TP Mazembe).

Nigerian teams did well in other categories with the World Conquering Nigeria U-17 side and African Champions Nigeria’s Dream Team U-23 getting nominated for National Team of the year.
