Kidnappers abduct House of Reps member on Abuja-Kaduna Road

Mr Garba Durbunde, a member of the House of Representatives,[Sumaila/Takai federal constituency], has been kidnapped.

According to sources, Mr. Durbunde was kidnapped along Kaduna- Jere road on Tuesday while on his way to Kano from Abuja.

Even though the Kaduna State Police Command has yet to confirm the incident, the Kano State Commissioner For Information and Culture, Mohammed Garba, confirmed the abduction of the federal lawmaker to Channels correspondent in Kaduna.

Mr Garba said no group or individual had claimed responsibility for the abduction of the lawmaker.
Durbunde was a former commissioner for rural development in the administration of former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
