20 Killed as Boko Haram Attack Maiduguri Mosque

Boko Haram has once again attacked the city of Maiduguri as the deadline by President Muhammadu Buhari ends in just days.

No fewer than 20 people were killed and 70 injured by a bomb attack on Monday inside a Mosque in Maiduguri according to a report by Per Second News.

The dreaded Boko Haram sect who hhad pledged allegiance to terrorist group The Islamic State yesterday also attacked the city and exchanged gunfire with the Military.

“We all fled yesterday as our houses were on fire. This morning we came back, and while we were counting the people who had burned in the houses, another bomb exploded,” said Ibrahim Goni, a resident who said he had visited the blast scene.

Today’s attack comes just days before Buhari’s self-imposed deadline to stamp out the group expires on December 31, and in the same week that he said Nigeria has “technically” defeated the terrorist group.
