Writer accuse Omoni Oboli of stealing Okafor’s Law

Nollywood’s celebrated actress and filmmaker, Omoni Oboli has been accused of stealing the idea for her latest movie Okafor’s Law from Canada-based writer, Jude Idada.

The writer Idada in an exclusive audio interview with True Nollywood Stories stated that he originally wrote the script for Okafor’s Law and Omoni and her husband, Nnamdi, took interest in it and decided to produce it.

According to him, he signed a contract with them and they had agreed to pay him N750,000 for the story. However, they neither paid him nor gave him credit for the script.

He also added that he was the brain behind Omoni’s 2014 blockbuster Being Mrs. Elliot. He further revealed that he sent the mother of four the first 50 scenes of the movie after she asked him to write the story. But along the line, she changed her mind on grounds that she had found a better script, only for him to watch the premiere of the movie in Paris and discover it was his story.

Omoni has been promoting Okafor’s Law on social media and the movie is set to make its world debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Omoni is currently in Canada for the premiere of the movie, is yet to respond to these allegations.
