Wanted Ex Governor Shema turns in self to EFCC

Ibrahim Shema slams EFCC Ibrahim Shema, the former Governor of Katsina State Governor, who was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has turned himself in to the anti-graft agency on Friday.

Premium Times reports that Shema’s spokesperson, confirmed that his principal arrived at the EFCC headquarters around 9:30 a.m on Friday.

Shema “went to submit himself to the EFCC even though the agency has not been fair to him in handling his case.

“He’s a law abiding citizen who has absolutely nothing to fear,” the spokesperson said.

Shema, a lawyer who has practiced for over 32 years was declared wanted on Wednesday for “criminal conspiracy, inflation of contract, abuse of office, diversion of funds and embezzlement running into billions of naira”.

The former governor, however, denied the allegations, accusing his successor, Governor Bello Masari of sending the EFCC after him.
