Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur dies

Mother of legendary rapper, Tupac, Afeni Shakur is dead.

According to WSBTV, the death was confirmed by the Marin County Sheriff’s Department in California, who said that Afeni died last night(American time) after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The Police officers reported to her home in Sausalto after the health issue which reportedly occurred at about 9:34pm. She was admitted to a local hospital but passed away at 10:28pm.

Afeni had been actively running her late son’s Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation and the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center. Afeni, opened the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation and the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain in 1997 and resided in the area. According to WSBTV, the latter centre was recently closed.

The filming of Tupac Shakur’s biopic which will tell the lead up to his death at the age of 25 in 1996 was only recently concluded.

Afeni Shakur was 69. And she is survived by a daughter; Sekyiwa Shakur.
