Three Bomb Blasts Hit Madagali in Adamawa, Many feared Dead

Three bombs have exploded on Friday at Madagali town in the northern part of Adamawa State leaving an unconfirmed number of people dead Daily Trust reports.

An eyewitness stated that the explosions occurred at a crowded motor park early Friday morning.

Security officials were already evacuating bodies as number of casualties were yet unknown.

An eyewitness said, “We heard three blasts near the checkpoint where people gathered to be screened before entering the town as you know today is market day.

“The suicide bombers blew themselves up alongside the two vigilante members that approached them,” he said.

A local official has also confirmed the attack, stating that it was not yet clear whether the attack was a suicide.

Chairman of Madagali Local Government, Alhaji Yusuf Mohammed, also confirmed the incident.

“I was outside the town for an official engagement but I was called and informed about the incident. That is all I can tell you for now,” Mohammed said.
