Suspected Al-Shabaab Militant shot Dead in Front of US Embassy

A militant suspected to have ties with Islamist extremist group Al-Shabaab was on Thursday shot dead by Kenyan police near the United States embassy in Nairobi.

The man is said to have tried to attack a policeman with a knife, and this policeman eventually shot him according to several accounts on social media and news organisations.

The US embassy confirmed the shooting in a tweet, adding that no staff of the embassy was involved in the incident.

The Somalian militant group, Al Shabaab has carried out series of deadly attacks in Kenya, primarily as a revenge for the role of Kenyan armed forces in toppling the brutal group from power in Somalia.
