SEE – Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Releases Pictures of Dogara’s Guest House in Abuja

The scandal rocking the House of Representatives which came up after padding allegations amongst the leadership of the House of Representatives has taken another messy turn as former chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, on Sunday, released what he claimed were pictures of one of Speaker Yakubu Dogara’s guest houses in Abuja, Premium Times writes.

This is the latest in a series of damning revelations by Hon Jibrin since his dismissal from the leadership of the Appropriation Committee earlier this month.

The 39 year old Kano State-born lawmaker shared pictures depicted Mr. Dogara’s guest house located at Vistula Close, along Panama Crescent, in the uptown Maitama neighbourhood in Abuja.

A common theme in the myriad of allegations by Abdulmumin Jibrin is that Speaker Dogara had diverted funds meant for legislative duties under the guise of constituency projects to furnish his guest houses and other apartments being personally used by him.

“Mr. Speaker and Deputy Speaker Yusuf Lasun diverted millions of naira all in the name of paying for guest houses and official residence. The issue became so messy that the Deputy Speaker openly accused Hon Herma Hembe of short changing them of millions of naira in the deal to the shock of many honourable members,” Mr. Jibrin said in a statement July 25.

Hon Dogara and other leaders of the lower chamber have since dismissed the allegations, challenging him to invite the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the matter.

The lawmaker’s whistleblowing has brought to public notice, documents that purportedly reveal scheming and double-dealing by his colleagues as they diverted funds allocated for ‘constituency’ projects.

Last week, the Department of State Security (DSS) sealed the office of Appropriations in the House of Representatives.
