Report of standing committee reviewing recent employment in state civil service is adopted by Plateau State Executive Council

Recall that the Plateau state government constituted committees and panels to provide reasonable recommendations regarding employment in the Plateau state civil service.

In a statement issued by the honorable commissioner of information, Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, that Plateau State Executive Council approved the following suggestions made by the drafting white paper standing Committee.

1. Ministry of Lands, Survey, and Town Planning.

2. Ministry of Higher Education.

3. Ministry of Youths and Sports Development.

4. Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Hospitality.

5. Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

6. Ministry of Finance.

7. Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning,

8. Ministry of Housing

9. Ministry of Information and Communication.

10. Ministry of Science and Technology and Innovation

11. Ministry of Works.

12. Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

13. Ministry of Women Affairs.

14. Ministry of Health.

15. Ministry of Budget

16. Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning.

17. Ministry of Environment.

18. Ministry of Education (Secondary).

19. Ministry of Justice.

20. Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

21. Ministry of Transport.

22. Hospitals Management Board.

23. Plateau State Specialist Hospital.

24. Plateau Agricultural Development Programme.

25. Plateau State Contributory Health Insurance Management Agency.

26. Plateau State Energy Corporation.

27. Plateau State Primary Health Care Board.

29. Road Maintenance Agency.

30. Plateau State Information, Communication Development Agency.

34. Civil Service Commission.

38. College of Arts, Remedial Sciences and Technology, Kurgwi.

39. Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi.

40. College of Health Technology, Pankshin.

41. College of Health Technology, Zawan.

42. College of Nursing and Midwifery, Vom.

Whilst:

43. Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission, The government frowns on the Civil Service Commission’s involvement in its employment and conducts a study to ensure an even distribution.

The following employment have been rejected or cancelled outright by the government.

1. Disability Rights Commission.

2. Plateau State Water and Sanitation Agency.

3. Relevant Technology Board.

4. Jos Metropolitan Development Board.

5. Office of the Auditor General Local Government.

6. Government House Administration.

7. Bureau of Statistics.

Hon. Ashoms added that The government directs that in reviewing or carrying out new employment exercises, competence, capacity, capability, and the State Character Principle must be evenly distributed across the 17 LGAs that comprise Plateau state, with consideration given to ad hoc or casual staff in those MDA’s or Institutions.
