Rashford Reminds me of Me – Brazilian Legend Ronaldo
Former player for Real Madrid and Barcelona, Brazilian legend Ronaldo has said he is reminded of himself when watching Manchester United teenage hotshot Marcus Rashford.
Rashford, 18, has burst onto the scene not unlike the young Ronaldo Luiz Nazario, scoring a number of vital goals to light up a glum Old Trafford and keep United’s season running.
The Phenomenom himself has claimed to be awed by the youngster’s talents, touting him for great things in the future, according to Goal.com.
“He’s a very good young player. I see some of myself in him for sure – he has courage and he’s fast and is very good with the ball,” Ronaldo told SunSport.
“I think for the strikers they have to be hungry to score and I see that with him. He has an amazing future.”
Rashford has been whispered as an outsider for the England national team ahead of Euro 2016 because of his form for the Red Devils, but Ronaldo believes Roy Hodgson’s men are favourites to clinch the crown whether or not the teenager is selected.
“In the qualifiers they had 10 matches and 10 victories. I think England are the favourites to win. You have the best qualifying performance,” he said.
“I would love to see England win. In England people love football so much, you deserve to win with the national team.”
The English team are yet to win a major tournament since their controversial World Cup victory in 1966, and many consider them among the favourites for this summer’s European championship in France.
