Pope Francis names the Greatest footballer on Earth

The Pope has joined football fans around the world in one of the biggest debates of football and fans can now heave a sigh of relief as the greatest ever debate has finally been resolved by none other than Pope Francis, Goal writes.

Pope Francis – the world’s moral compass and a renowned San Lorenzo supporter – threw his support behind countryman Messi over another compatriot Diego Maradona and even Brazil great and three-time World Cup winner, Pele.

“For me, [Lionel] Messi is better than Maradona and Pele,” Pope Francis was quoted as telling young men and women participating in World Youth Day.
