Police Rescue Child Chained Up in Ogun

Operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who acted on a tip off have rescued a nine-year-old in Ogun State.
Policemen on Thursday rescued a 10-year-old girl chained as punishment for stealing in Ogun state.
The Punch newspaper reports that policemen rescued Promise Udeh at the Adigbe area of Abeokuta the Ogun State Capital after neigbours close to the house where she was chained alerted the police.
The acting Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said she was allegedly chained by her aunt, Chiamaka Okafor, for allegedly stealing N4,000.
Chiamaka is currently on the run but her husband, Sunday Okafor, has been arrested and is in police custody.
