Osissa community hold Delta SSG Hostage over Herdsmen Attack

osiIn Delta State, Osissa community in the Ndokwa-East Local Government Area is currently protesting the alleged killing of three members of the community by suspected Fulani herdsmen and have taken laws into their hands.

The Punch reports that the protesters are holding the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Festus Ovie Agas, and his convoy hostage.

The Secretary to the State Government’s convoy was held along the Ughelli-Asaba express at about 6:55am.

It was also learnt that travellers were stranded in the protest after two herdsmen had allegedly attacked earlier and were arrested by officers from the Ashaka Police Station.

It was reported that the herdsmen attacked again on Sunday evening, killing at least three persons in Osissa community.
