Neymar stuns for Barcelona as PSG swoop thickens (Video)

Even as news of PSG’s swoop for Neymar thickens, the Brazilian was the star of the show as Barcelona edged Juventus 2-1 in the ongoing International Champions Cup.

The Barcelona superstar is reportedly on the verge of a world record €222 million transfer to French giants Paris Saint-Germain, and he gave a timely reminder of his worth in the game.

25 year old Neymar got the show kicked off with an exquisite finish in the 15th minute of Barca’s pre-season clash against the Italian champions in New Jersey, United States playing a one-two with Paco Alcacer and holding off a defender to slot the ball into the far corner.

The goal was met with subdued celebration by the former Brazil captain, but there was nothing quiet about his second strike on the night 11 minutes later as he weaved through four Juve defenders and fired past the legendary Gianluigi Buffon.

Neymar was a constant thorn in Juve’s side, tearing the 2017 Italian UEFA finalists apart with his combination of speed and skill, drawing fouls and linking up play all in one before being subbed out of half-time.

Neymar joined Barcelona from Santos in 2013 and last October agreed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2022.

Neymar’s future has been the hot topic in Europe this week with PSG gearing up for a stunning swoop in the hope that the Brazilian forward would want to step out of Lionel Messi’s shadow at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona next take on Manchester United in the International Champions Cup before a mouthwatering showdown with archrivals Real Madrid on Saturday, and topmost on their minds will be the future of their Brazil star.
