Man crushed to Death by wife as she also dies in Accident

An obese woman in India has slipped on a staircase and crushed her husband – killing both of them in a tragic freak accident.

According to the Mirror, Manjula Vithlani, 68, of Ramdham, India, fell as she hurried to check on her ill son Ashish on the floor above with her husband hurrying behind her.

Her husband Natvarlal suffered fatal head injuries when her 128 kilogram frame toppled onto him.

Their child the report say was suffering from breathing problems, and his wife Nisha live on the first floor of the property, while the older couple lived below.

A police spokesman told the Times of India : “At around 4am, Nisha came downstairs to get some medicine for Ashish. Her in-laws also woke up and hurriedly tried to go upstairs to check his health.

“However, Manjula could not keep her balance and slipped. She fell on Natvarlal who was climbing behind her.

“They were rushed to a private hospital where both died of cerebral haemorrhage.”

Pradhyuman Ravaiya, the investigating officer, said: “The couple always remained anxious about their son’s health.

“On getting to know that he had taken ill, they tried to reach the first floor in too much hurry.”
