Lewis Hamilton wins Monaco grand Prix

World champion Lewis Hamilton survived a late collision to win an unforgettable Monaco Grand Prix.

Lewis was left struggling with the tyres on his car after fitting softer rubber than his Monaco contemporaries at pit stops during an early safety-car period.

Britain’s Hamilton repeatedly complained about his tyres but by careful management held on to take his fourth win of 2019. he had a late scare as he had a collision with the Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen

Although Mercedes’ run of consecutive victories at the start of this season continued, their sequence of one-twos between Hamilton and bottas is over. This is as a result of what is perceived as Bottas’ bad luck.

Hamilton now holds a 17-point lead over his team-mate in the championship.

Next up for Formula is the Canadian Grand prix which takes place in two weeks’ time.

 

Mercedes will start as favourites, but the long straights tracks might give Ferrari their first chance to be competitive since two races ago when they challenged in Baku
