LAUTECH Final Year Student Stabs Boyfriend To Death
The Oyo State Police Command yesterday paraded Abiodun Olabisi, an undergraduate of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Lekan Adegun, to death.
The 23-year-old female final year student and the deceased, a fresh graduate of the institution awaiting call-up for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, were said to be living together as a ‘couple’ at Phonix Area, Stadium Road, Ogbomosho until the unfortunate incident.
Briefing newsmen at the command’s headquarter in Eleyele, Ibadan, the state Police Commissioner, Abiodun Odude, while parading the suspect said the incident happened following a quarrel between the two as a result of petty jealousy.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect and the deceased were cohabiting in the usual student’s tradition of trial marriage at Phoenix area, Ogbomoso. The incident happened on November 21 at about 8:00p.m. following a quarrel arising from petty jealousy.
“The victim, a graduate of Transport Management, was stabbed in the chest and was rushed to Bowen University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso , but died before he could be attended to,” Odude said, adding that:
“The kitchen knife used to commit the murderous act has been recovered and the suspect has also been arraigned in court.”
