INEC reveal Date for 2019 General Elections
As the countdown to the 2019 General elections get closer, the Independent Electoral Commission has revealed that elections will be held in Nigeria on 16 February 2019 to elect the President and the National Assembly.
They will be the sixth quadrennial elections since the end of military rule in 1999.
INEC chairman, Professor Yakubu Mahmood, made this announcement, while meeting with members of the Commission and all Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC), at the INEC Headquarters’ Conference Hall, Abuja on Thursday.
The Presidential and National Assembly elections have been fixed for Saturday 16th February 2019.

INEC also revealed the date for State Assembly and Governorship elections as 2nd March 2019.
While the Gov. State Assembly and Federal Capital Territory(FCT) Area Council elections are fixed for Saturday 2nd March 2019.
