Ibru dynasty lose patriarch, Olorogun Michael Ibru

The Ibru dynasty patriarch, Olorogun Michael Christopher Onajirhevbe Ibru, is dead.

This is comes months after the burial of his younger brother and former Governor of Delta State, Felix Ibru.

In a statement by the family, the business mogul and Otota of Agbarha-Otor kingdom passed away at a medical centre in the United States in the early hours of Tuesday, September 6, 2016 after a protracted illness. He was 86 years old according to the Will.

Until his death, Ibru, an Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR), served as the Chairman, Michael and Cecilia Foundation (MCF) and a host of other business and social concerns.

He was a graduate of the prestigious Igbobi College, Lagos in 1951, he served as a member of the Business Advisory Council of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and was also a Council member of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Nigeria-United States Business Council.

He is considered among his people to be a major pillar in the economic empowerment of the Urhobo nation, south-south Nigeria.
