How Timipre Sylva Emerged as the Governorship Candidate of APC

The immediate past governor of Bayelsa state, Timipre Sylva emerged as the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress following the violence-ridden and irregular primary election of the ruling party at the centre.
Timipre Sylva garnered 726 votes to defeat Timi Alaibe who was said to have gathered support from the former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Alaibe managed to poll a paltry 4 votes.
1,502 delegates were expected to vote at the primary election, but due to the violence and disorder, only 730 got to participate in the voting process.
