The Italy vs Spain match lived up to all its hype although it seemed a team wanted it more and they go the reward at the end of 90 minutes.

Spain, the reigning champions’ fell to a superior Italian side to exit at the last-16 stage, but Italy deservedly progress to the quarter-finals. Italy avenge the 4-0 final loss at Euro 2012 with a hard-fought 2-0 triumph in Paris. Chiellini grabbed the opener, poking home a rebound after the otherwise excellent De Gea had parried out an Eder free-kick. Italy stood firm after the break before sealing the win with a volley from Pelle.

It doesn’t get any easier for Conte and his players as they face 2014 World Cup winners Germany.
