By  |

Guus-Hiddink-Chelsea-001With the sack of Mourinho, Chelsea fans await if Guus Hiddink will be picked up as a replacement for the Special One.

The papers are fairly unanimous that Guus Hiddink is on his way back to Chelsea – but will he be in charge tomorrow?

The Times reports: “Chelsea are in advanced talks over the appointment of Guus Hiddink, the former Holland coach, who is expected to take over until the end of the season, though it is not clear whether he will be in charge against Sunderland tomorrow.

“In the longer term, Roman Abramovich will make another bid to land Pep Guardiola, who is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, but Manchester City are firm favourites to sign the Spaniard.

“Diego Simeone and Antonio Conte, respectively the coaches of Atletico Madrid and Italy, are next on the list.”

According to the Telegraph Chelsea will now look to Guus Hiddink, as reported by Telegraph Sport on Wednesday, to replace the manager on a short-term basis.
The next permanent Chelsea manager will likely be appointed next summer, with candidates including Diego Simeone, Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti all in the frame. Mourinho’s second reign in London was initially successful, with his Chelsea side winning the league last year, and the Portuguese further enhancing his reputation as Chelsea’s best ever manager.
