James Pine, Benue state Executive Secretary of the Teaching Service Board (TSB) has been arraigned before a Makurdi Magistrate Court for slapping and beating a staff to coma.

Reports from the Leadership Newspapers state that on March 11, 2016, the accused slapped and pushed the victim, James Asema, to the ground, before beating him to stupor.

Pine thereafter ordered the immediate transfer of the victim from the headquarters to St. Luke’s Secondary school Enugba in Agatu LGA.

Speaking on the incident, the victim said that he was the Maintenance Officer of TSB before his transfer.

“I had complained to my boss on the dangers of running the independent power plant because there was insufficient fuel.”

“Although the ES obliged my complaint and sent for more fuel and mandated me to report back at 3:30pm to assess generator. To my surprise, the matter took a dramatic turn when I reported at the appointed time but he became furious and assaulted me.”
