French Man goes on Stabbing Spree in Australia

In Australia, a French man has been taken into custody by the Australian police after he stabbed a 21-year-old British woman to death and injured two others in north Queensland.

Reports have it that the 29-year-old Frenchman went on the shocking knife attack yesterday night and reportedly yelled the Islamic phrase ‘Allahu Akbar’ – meaning ‘God is great’ – during the violent incident and also when he was arrested.

He reportedly left the scene of the attack, returned to his room and did not resist arrest when the police arrived at his hotel.

Police reports confirm that more than 30 people, who were gathered at a hostel near the scene of the incident, witnessed the attack. They also stated that they are investigating whether mental health or drug use may have been factors to the French man’s actions.

The injured people are said to be a 46-year-old local man, who received a stab wound to his leg and a 31-year-old Englishman who remains in a critical condition. A dog was also reportedly killed in the attack.

The police discovered during their investigations that the Frenchman had been in Australia on a temporary visa since March and there are no records of him in their system.
