FIFA President Sepp Blatter Suspended for three Months

FIFA President Sepp Blatter has been suspended  for 90 days by Football governing body . FIFA’s suspension of its President might be the final milestone to mark the end of Blatter’s reign.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has been provisionally suspended by the organisation’s ethics committee, a close friend has told Sky News.

According to Paul Kelso of Sky News, the suspension is “pending further investigation by Swiss prsecutors.”

Last month, the Swiss attorney general announced that Sepp Blatter will face charges of “criminal mismanagement” and “misappropriation.”

Blatter’s suspension could effectively end his reign depending on the length of the investigation.

In June, Blatter announced his intention to step down as president following a special election for a new head of soccer’s governing body. That election is expected to be hold sometime between December and March.

Among the charges is an allegation that Blatter gave a “disloyal payment” to UEFA president Michel Platini totaling 2 million francs ($2.1 million).

That payment is alleged to have been made three months before Platini announced he would not run against Blatter in the 2011 FIFA presidential election.
