Vincent Enyeama Makes Ligue 1 best XI
Retired Nigerian goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has added another feather to his decorated cap as he’s been named in the French Football Weekly Award (FFWAwards) team of the season in the Ligue 1 after another stellar campaign with his club Lille LOSC.
The former Super Eagles captain, who was narrowly beaten to the FFWAwards Goalkeeper of the season honour by Olympique de Marseille and France goalkeeper Steve Mandada, was named in the team of the season alongside superstars Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Angel Di Maria both of Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Alexandre Lacazette and Samuel Umtiti of Lyon, Hatem Ben Arfa and Vincent Kozhiello of OGC Nice, Lassana Diarra of Olympique Marseille, Djibril Sidibe of Lille and Roman Thomas of Angers.
The Super Eagles Goalie who quit under controversial circumstances has yet another deserved recognition for the Lille shot-stopper who was earlier in the month named among the top 10 goalkeepers in Europe alongside Juventus’ Gigi Buffon, Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer among others.
The former Enyimba no 1 had his international career cut short in October last year following a face-off with erstwhile Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh.
He retired as Nigeria’s most capped player with 101 appearances for the national side.
