Enyeama and Emenike to play for Super Eagles Again

Former Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama and former striker Emmanuel Emenike are set to turn out in the Super Eagles shirts again.

Enyeama, Lille LOSC shot-stopper, who quit international football last October after falling out with then coach Sunday Oliseh, will be in goal for Nigeria next week during the Joseph Yobo Testimonial match billed to take place at the Adokiye Amesimeka Stadium in Port Harcourt on May 27.

Vanguard reports that the 101-cap goalkeeper will feature for the Nigerian team against Yobo’s friends as confirmed by event coordinator Waidi Akanni yesterday.

“We have a confirmation to that effect and there are many other goodies lined up for fans because Yobo is so passionate about this project,” Akanni said.

Another player who called time on his international career last year, Emmanuel Emenike, will also be in town for the showpiece Game.

“Emmanuel is coming. He spoke with me personally and I am so elated with the love shown by my colleagues,” Akanni said.

Some international stars expected to honour the former Eagles skipper include Samuel Eto’o Fils,  Didier Drogba, John Terry, Thierry Henry and Wayne Rooney, the Ayew Brothers: Dede and Jordan, Sulley Muntari, Djibrin Cisse and Tresor Lualua.

The Joseph Yobo Foundation has partnered with the Rivers State Government for the Centenary Game in the Garden City.

Joseph Yobo represented Nigeria with distinction in a 13-year career that culminated in a 2013 Afcon triumph. He was the first Nigerian player to bag 100 caps and featured at three FIFA World Cups.
