#EndRape – MVRQUIZ

By  |

The act of rape in Nigeria and the diaspora has tripled in recent times and Marquiz (spelt MVRQUIZ) is one rapper that always has a way of getting you in your feelings by springing forth issues from reality.

On this short piece, which was originally performed by 6lack and J Cole (pretty little fears), the rapper reminds us of a story that trended in the first quarter of 2019 and goes further to put himself in women’s shoes, describing the pain they feel from the trauma caused by rape.

Here’s an excerpt of the quotables:

Poor girl, I imagine your pain now,

The trauma and the pain that’s stuck in your brain now,

And you know how rapists never use condoms, so I’m sure she’s thinking what if I have AIDS now, I’m not just a girl anymore, I’m a victim now…”

They say the purest form of giving is anonymous to anonymous, this is MVRQUIZ’ gift to every girl out there. Follow the thread online @mvrquiz via twitter/IG. Download, share and repost, thanks. #EndRape
