El Chapo’s Son Kidnapped
Son of notorious drug kingpin and serial jail breaker El Chapo Guzman has reportedly regained his freedom after spending close to a week in the den of his captors.

According to the Daily Mail reports,Jesus Alfredo Guzman Salazar, 29, and five others who were kidnapped by the Jalisco New Generation cartel at La Leche restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on Monday were released unharmed, according to local crime blogs.

No official statements have been released by Mexican officials about the release, and Salazar and the other five people are still listed as missing in the books of the authorities.

Though there are no details of where Salazar and others were released, Salazar is believed to be back with his family.

Seven gunmen in pickup trucks had attacked the upscale La Leche restaurant in the early morning of Monday and abducted the group, in what investigators have called a likely settling of scores between rival drug cartels.

Mexican authorities had initially believed that Ivan, Salazar’s elder brother and drugs kingpin of Sinaloa cartel had likely been abducted while celebrating with fellow gang members. The situation became more befuddling after crime police discovered only fake identification documents on the scene of the kidnapping.

Jalisco New Generation emerged in Puerto Vallarta in 2010 and has become one of Mexico’s most powerful drug gangs in recent months by defying the authorities with a series of brazen attacks and ambushes.
